St Gabriel’s Catholic Primary School Headteachers Letter
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I would like to offer a very warm welcome to St Gabriel’s Catholic Primary School, serving the community of Higher Folds. We are a Voluntary Aided, 1.5 form entry school with approximately 300 children currently on roll. We have a nursery on site offering excellent provision for 3 year olds led by a qualified teacher. Our extended school provision includes a Breakfast Club from 7:45 each morning to activity clubs until 5.45pm each night.
As a Catholic school, we promote Christian values in a way that is inclusive of all pupils and their families. All members of our school community are expected to uphold the Core Values of our school: Respect, Love, Forgiveness, Honesty, Courage, Effort and Responsibility. Through our Core Values, we celebrate the diversity of our school community and promote tolerance and respect for one another.
We are extremely proud of our extended and refurbished school building, coupled with a varied and interesting curriculum, which provides an enjoyable and stimulating learning environment. We believe that children should have as many first hand experiences as possible and we enrich our curriculum with numerous visits and visitors to consolidate learning.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of teaching and learning to enable all pupils to achieve their academic potential and we set the highest aspirations for their future. We employ an experienced Sports Coach to ensure quality PE provision and a qualified Spanish teacher. Our children benefit from the personal support offered by our Pastoral Manager, as well as access to specialist intervention from Speech and Language Therapist, Counsellors and Educational Psychologists.
We have a very dedicated, highly skilled staff who strive to work together effectively as a team to support all our children to reach their full potential. We are proud of the safe, nurturing and welcoming school environment that has been established. The excellent care, support and guidance enables very positive relationships to be built with both pupils and parents.
I hope you find our website informative and that it provides a useful insight into life at St Gabriel’s for current and prospective parents, carers and pupils. You are more than welcome to come and visit our school and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to telephone the office staff who will be happy to help on 769712/673603.
